I ordered this antenna to replace one which came with a Pioneer in-dash unit. The one which came with the in-dash unit had a very thin wire which easily wore out due to normal strain on the wire from movement of the vehicle.This replacement has a much thicker (probably 2-3x as thick) and more durable antenna wire, and months after replacing the factory antenna with this one, it has yet to give me any trouble. In addition, this replacement provides a much stronger and more reliable signal. My XM no longer cuts out when going under overpasses or foliage.This antenna is definitely worth the price; I do not foresee the antenna wire shorting out due to normal usage, as did the factory one.
