This is the right adapter to plug in and run the FR200 radio, but this adapter although right voltage of 4.5V , the output is 1000 milliamperes and the rechargeable battery is 600 milliamperes . If you do not unhook the battery, the battery will get over heated (super hot) and fire risk. The version of manual I have says:" External Power, A DC input socket ......requires a 4.5V ....200 milliamperes or greater......" . but it does not mention the red right would come on when on adapter power and which means the rechargeable battery is being charged at too high capacity and will overheat. Although my manual says "if the DC-4.5V socket is in use, the battery supply will be switched off automatically", the battery mentioned here is referring to the AA battery. After I unhook the rechargeable and plug in the adapter, I have to turn to Dynamo selector for radio to run even though the manual says pick batt/adapter selector.
