I wanted a small, battery-powered radio like this for emergencies or power outages. I like that it's small, light, fits easily in one hand. It has one speaker and gets loud enough. The telescoping antenna is about 10" long when extended. Runs on two AA batteries which is great because I have access to free batteries this size and I stock up on them. Controls are really basic, but that's great. It's a radio, and that's all I need it to be. It has an analog tuning wheel, volume, and AM/FM/OFF switch. The price is very reasonable. No need to spend more on a name brand radio because this one is a good deal.Update: I had a big storm with near-tornado damage, and was without power for a week. This radio gave me something to do to pass the time when there was nothing else. I still think it's a great radio and I'm tempted to get a second one.
