Need this for bypass the factory amp. After installing a new 2 din head unit. You have to disassamble the harness but it works greatI did the amp bypass using the male side of this adapter sometime ago - which worked perfectly, and sounds great. But, I like a lot of bass, so I am going to use this adapter to re-power the amp and carry the signal to the sub. Plug and play once I connect the wires from to receiver to this adapter as this is the same adapter I disconnected from the amp for the by-pass. Delivery was real fast; item is perfect.I purchased this to bypass the factory amp in my 01 GMC Yukon without doing so my replacement radio wouldn't work without running new wires to each speaker, it used in conjunction with another adapter and needed to be replaced pinned, if you have GMC with a factory amplifier this will help bring your system to life(just remember it's not plug and play for this purpose you have to modify it)used it for the cluster worked like a champ??as advertisedit would be a 5 star review because the wires are pretty good sized not chincey fragile wires and the plastic is good, but unless you want to take the time and test every combination of wires its useless there are three power wires for different models which is fine but none of the rest of the wires matched the original car harness colors and there was really no labeling on the oem side for it to be useful with that being said its hefty but kind of uselesswould have worked if there was a standard harness color system for all audio install kits. trial and error got it working but was tedious.
