The vehicle mount is easy to install and I like it being hidden under the dash. The speaker is a little on the loud side with static but quiet with voice sometimes. The hand-set came inoperable so I reached out to Midland and they sent a replacement right away. Just took a trip though Arizona and I handed out a walkie to another vehicle in our group. The range through towns was about 4 or 5 blocks away with buildings in-between. The range on open highway was a couple miles at least with rolling hills between us. The vehicle radio picked up more side chatter due to its longer range with the added 3dBm ghost antenna. We almost kill our hand-helds on the trip though. The outside temperatures reached 122deg and the walkies were clipped to the visors in the roof which likely got even hotter when we were camped out all day at the lake. They did not work the rest of the trip. Got home and trickle charged them for a couple days and they seem to be working fine again. All in all very good radios and good customer service. Just don't let them get too hot.
