Pretty easy to install. I do not own the truck. There was a preexisting hole in the cab for the ELD (electronic log) that I utilized for the coax. I went through the access for the mirror power to get in the cab. I attached the cable to the frame of the mirror down to the cab access. Plenty of cable was available as expected. It helps to have a basic understanding of how trucks are put together for commercial applications. I have been a Sirius customer since launch. I've had more radios and setups that I can remember over the years. This is my first truck antenna surprisingly. Currently I have an Onyx Plus receiver. As a company driver, I change trucks some so I tend to install less permanently. If I was staying in the truck long term I could have been cleaner with the cables. My radio goes with me when I switch trucks. So far, the antenna seems fantastic. I looked at others, the marine antenna, the tall skinny whip that comes in 3 sizes. This antenna seems durable and I was able to fix it tightly to the mirror arm with the provided hardware.I will update my review after some miles if I uncover any concerns. Otherwise seems pretty solid. Good luck! Installed on a 2015 Peterbilt 367 as pictured.I am a truck driver and I have bought the antennas at truck stops, which are not bad but this one is much better, you will always have a loss of signal for seconds but it is the best of all.I have had one of these types of antennas before and kinda knew what to expect. Then I got put into a 2019 Freightliner Cascadia. No mirror bracket on the door for an easy mounting. Went to the back of the cab on the catwalk and mounted to the vertical grab bar making the antenna mounted in a horizontal position. The radio didn't like that one bit .... (mounted horizontally) It cut in and out as bad or even worse than the magnetic antenna. So I discovered that one of the brackets for the airdam on the top of the cab will allow the antenna mount to bolt right to it. Not sure if it being mounted verticaly or giving the antenna a little bit more height made the difference but I have had it on for a couple of weeks now and I have not lost reception once. So the cable runs along the top of the cab. Drops down into the passenger side door. Remove the rubber grommet at the top of the door frame. Push the cable through and staying inside the interior trim to the dash area. Tuck it into the trim right up at the window. Looks great. Works even better.I have a Class C RV and the walls are made of fiberglass, aluminum and plywood. The regular magnetic mount that comes with the kit would not work on this nor was the wire long enough. I also wanted something that would protrude higher than the roof to clear the A/C, vent covers and other things that could obstruct the antenna. I simply separated the bracket and put one on the inside and bought longer stainless steel bolts at Lowes (cost about $3.00 extra). Installed it put silicone the back of the exterior bracket before tightening the bolts & nuts all the way. drilled a separate hole for the wire with a grommet and ran the wire through.I have put about 3,000 miles on the RV since installing, driven through some torrential rain. I haven't lost signal yet and no water leaks either. I give this antenna 5 stars (for an RV at least). This is a wonderful antenna. It comes with a very long "mini coax" cable with gold plated ends. The length is surely long enough to let you route it where you want to go. The connection at the antenna comes with a rubber boot for a weather seal and the end connecting to the radio dock has a 90 degree bend that helps it lay correctly. I have this hooked up in a temporary fashion as I do not own the semi it's installed in. I ran it through the door opening and have no issues. In my case the door seal allows this thickness without hurting the cable. I had no need to buy the "flattened" cable to go that route. I immediately received a full signal strength and that has not changed at all. At highway speeds and even bumpy roads the antenna has not moved and no skips with the signal. I use this with an EZ radio in a portable dock.I can see that this would even make an excellent antenna for a permanent house antenna. If you mount it so the cable end would be able to make it into the house without an extension to the cable, it would be perfect.Overall, this works beautifully and would highly recommend it.I've had the tram antenna it never lost the signal like this one does. Where it is no difference from where I had The Tram. I'm losing signal for just a couple of seconds. Other than that it's goodI live in northern Alberta and with the usual square magnetic antenna, I was getting dropouts. now I getGreat antenna easy installI've just upgraded my review from 1 star to 5. The first unit I ordered simply did not work. I've returned it and have reordered and received a new unit which works fine. It seems to give excellent reception and signal strength and I'm happy with it. Time will tell with respect to durability and the refund for the failed unit is still in process though I anticipate no problems with that. On the basis of my current satisfaction I recommend this unit and this seller to prospective purchasers of a Sirius XM antenna for their highway vehicle. If you are fitting this, or any similar antenna, to a Cascadia, you will have to purchase a mounting bracket for an additional 50 bux or so. Standard mirrored vehicles won't need this, just the Cascadia.I work in Northern B.C. on an excavator building logging roads. When I had the stock antenna almost every time I lifted the boom and turned the right way I would lose the SiriusXM signal. Since going to theBROWNING WSPBRTRUCKER, Satellite Radio Trucker Mirror-Mount Antenna with Large Built-In Ground Plane I haven’t lost the signal once, I highly recommend this product.this thing is better than the magnetic antenna provided with all portable radios.it's not perfect mind you, i have found dead spots in my travels and they remain. that said, there are way fewer spots where the radio loses signal.one word of note: the hardware provided will clamp on to wide mirror brackets, i have a kw with very wide brackets, BUT you will have to provide your own screws, nuts and washers. the provided hardware does not have screws that are long enough for more modern mirror brackets. the screws are only long enough for the old style tubular mirror bracketsSince I install my SiriusXM radio I have had problem with the standard antenna. The channels just keep cutting out until I decide to give this Browning antenna a try and it turned out to be my best decision. Now I have been listening to my program mostly without interruption..We have a truck camper on the truck 5 to 6 months of the year. The camper blocks the shark fin antenna so we lose signal when travelling in the wrong direction. Tried the Sirius magnet mount antenna; it was worse than the factory antenna. This has worked for the last 2 weeks, with a few trips. Haven't noticed the radio cutting out . Should have bought this first.
