Thankfully this works great with CANBUS v1.6 used on VW's around 2004-2006 including the Touareg. Thanks to previous reviewer who confirmed this; which is the only reason I bought it.Wiring instructions are clear. ACC On, Lights Dim, and Reverse signal wires work immediately when the 2 CANBUS connections are properly made. Steering wheel controls, for me, required cutting the 3 stage headphone adapter output and using the "generic" dip switch positions. On my head unit "Vol +" was "Key 1" and "Vol -" was "Key 2". Unfortunately the other steering wheel control buttons do not work. So you cannot use the three lower right steering controls to Select/Scroll/Exit on head unit.Note: The CANBUS interface is read only and does not support transmitting data even if your head unit supports it. So it will read CANBUS signals from the car but will not transmit information to the car from the head unit. This means your will not see any information in the Cluster Panel MFD screen about what is being played on the head unit; the MFD will just display "Audio". Also VAG CANBUS scan interfaces, such as "Ross-Tech" will report that Navigation/Audio systems are not present because it is not transmitting info.I was just happy to get the basic ACC On, Lights Dim, and Reverse Camera functions. Still working on a generic reverse camera which is very difficult to run wires from the tailgate. Obviously not a flaw in this CANBUS interface and just due to "precision German engineering" that makes it difficult to to implement ad-hoc/non-standard components.
