The RMS2XAMPS 4-Hole AMPS Small Mounting Pedestal is part of Arkon’s Robust Mount Series. It measures just over 4” tall from base to top and is ideal for tight areas where a smaller pedestal is beneficial. It features an AMPS drill mount base as well as an AMPS head. The mount can be drilled into solid, flat surfaces, such as walls, tables, and workbenches and is compatible with devices having a 4-Hole AMPS pattern, including cameras, GPS devices, or satellite radios. The AMPS pattern consists of four holes located in a rectangular pattern spaced at 30.17mm x 38.05mm (measured as the center-to-center distance between holes). This tough mounting pedestal is also ideal for mobile radio holders, housings, and other devices used by public safety, construction, and utility applications. This package includes only the Heavy-Duty 4-Hole AMPS Mounting Pedestal with 4-Hole AMPS Head. This mount measures 4.13 inches high from end to end, and is made of a combination of nylon and fiber. The arm of the pedestal swivels on both the top and the bottom, providing 360-degree rotation and the ultimate flexibility in positioning the device at any angle.

I’ve used Arkon mounts in the past, specifically the AMPS screw-in mount without the center arm, and the model with the standard ~4” arm (~6” overall end to end). This shorter arm cuts 2” off the overall length and still provides a good amount of adjustability.I am using these to mount the head for my VHF/UHF amateur radio (ham radio) in my truck. The arm-less mount, sold as a satellite radio mount, worked well for many years but the position was less flexible with the arm. The positioning ring finally cracked and I needed a replacement. The longer arm model was too long for my use, putting the radio head in an awkward position.I ordered this model and simply swapped the shorter arm for the longer arm. No removal of the AMPS plates needed. Nothing better than 30 second installs!
